Trip Wilson began his insurance career in 1978 and became a third generation representative for Farmers Insurance as a Farmers Agent. He was preceded by his Grandfather-in-Law, Sam Loftin, the first Farmers District Manager to establish a District Office in San Diego, and Mort Carlile, his Father-in-Law, who ran a Farmers District Office of his own for 54 years. During Trip’s 36 year career with Farmers his achievements including making Presidents Council, Life Championships, Topper Club on numerous occasions, and Premier Agency status. Trip resigned from Farmers Insurance on April 30, 2014 and opened a new independent insurance agency. This agency known as Wilson Insurance Brokers is now affiliated with the Professional Insurance Associates.
He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management at Miami University of Oxford Ohio in 1975. He is a Licensed Agent/Broker in Property and Casualty Insurance, Life Insurance, and Health Insurance.
After graduating from college in 1975, Trip served three years on the USS Okinawa (LPH-3), in the USNR as a line officer in the weapons department. He received an Honorable Discharge from active duty in 1978 with a rank of Lieutenant.
He is an Affiliate Member of San Diego Association of Realtors, Pacific Southwest Association of Realtors, and the San Diego Chapter of the Community Association Institute, Business Networking Group 360 and Le Tip Downtown.
He has been married to wife Christy since 1977 and has two daughters, Kristen and Brittany.
